In 2021 we chose a slower life in North Idaho and began building Alpine Village from the ground up. What started as a longing for more time together has become our family’s daily work: tending land, welcoming neighbors, and creating a childhood shaped by fresh air and real connection.
Before the farm, our careers pulled us in different directions, teaching, music, marketing, creative work, long days and late nights. We loved the adventure, but we kept circling the same question: what would it look like to live in a way that matched our values: health, family, nature, and time?
The Early Years
Those first seasons were a mix of grit and grace. We learned the land, fixed what was broken, and rebuilt more than once. There were setbacks we didn’t plan for and small victories that kept us going. Through it all we discovered what we really wanted: a home where our daughter could run barefoot and meals came from right outside the door.
What Guides Us
- Family first, always. Work bends around connection, not the other way around.
- Nervous system calm is the foundation for learning and for living.
- Nature is teacher: weather, seasons, chores, animals, and all the ordinary magic in between.
How Our Vision Grew
As we settled, two parallel callings took shape. One was to care for this place with integrity. The other was to reimagine early childhood in a way that honors attachment, movement, and real world learning. Alpine Village became the home for both with family life at the center.
What Matters Most
We aren’t chasing “bigger.” We’re choosing “truer,” to our faith, to the land, and to the children and families who share it with us. We say yes to slow mornings, shared tables, practical help, and the kind of education that starts with a deep breath.
A Note of Thanks
The road to get here felt impossible at times, but we are here now and we have never been more committed to providing organic healthy food and resources to our people. We are so grateful for all the love and support we have received for our farm and school. May the food you eat always be your first defense.
